Who We Are
Bridging Faith, Mental Health, and Community Care
Supporting Wellness in Church Communities.
Miraculum Mental Health Consultants Group is a wellness consultancy dedicated to helping churches develop effective mental health ministries and care systems. We are a team of mental health professionals who bring our expertise to the church. As a multidisciplinary healthcare team, we collaborate with pastors, boards of directors, and church leadership to create mental health ministries.
Based in Nova Scotia and serving faith communities beyond the province, our work focuses on equipping churches with the knowledge, structures, and resources needed to respond compassionately to mental health challenges.
We recognize that churches are often among the first places people turn when experiencing grief, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional distress, or other personal challenges.
Miraculum evokes the Latin word for wonder or marvel. It reflects our belief that healing, growth, restoration, and positive change are possible when people and communities receive Christ-centred and compassionate care.
Together, we can create church communities where faith and mental health care work hand in hand.
Our Mission
To equip churches to create Christ-centred, compassionate, sustainable mental health ministries.
We envision churches as the primary location where people can receive professional mental health services.
Our Core Values
Faith
Honouring the spiritual foundations and unique identity of each church community.
Compassion
Responding to individuals and families with Godly compassion and a commitment to understand their experiences.
Restoration
Believing that healing, resiliency, personal growth, and restoration can emerge when people are supported with compassion and faith-informed intervention.
Collaboration
Recognizing we can make meaningful impact when churches, mental health professionals, communities, individuals, and families work together.
Community Transformation
Strengthening the capacity of churches to become a resource for individuals, families, and communities.
Sustainability
Creating ministries that can continue to serve communities long after their initial development.
Why This Work Matters
Mental Health Is Part of Whole-Person Care
Mental health challenges affect people of every age, background, and faith tradition. Within churches, these experiences may be accompanied by additional questions about faith, belonging, stigma, or where to seek help.
Pastors are often asked to minister to individuals and families impacted by mental illness, and tend to refer them to professionals outside the church.
Miraculum helps churches reclaim the role of counsellor through education, strategic planning, and mental health ministry development.
Our Philosophy
Faith and Professional
Mental Health Care Can Work Together
Spiritual support and clinical mental health services have distinct but complementary roles.
Our collaborative approach empowers churches to provide meaningful community and spiritual care while providing mental health care.
Our work is shaped by a commitment to mental health education, community well-being, and faith-informed support.
